Emmy Fashion 2010

My Internet was on the fritz yesterday, sorry about the late Emmys Favorites post. While nothing was spectacular, except for January Jone's show stopping electric blue Versace gown, I did enjoy the safe and lovely choices that were made for the 62nd Emmy Awards. The pallet was a mixture of navy, shades of red, a few pale nudes and, of course, black.  Kelly Osbourne looked beyond fantastic and Jane Lynch might be one of my favorite actresses (Gleek alert!), her deep plum Ali Rahimi gown was so lovely on her. Kyra Sedgwick was a knockout in Monique Lhuillier but I just don't understand all the beed bracelets. What are your thoughts? Who were your faves? Enjoy!!

Just, Beyond

Best in show
Jane Lynch in Ali Rahimi, Jayma Mays in Burberry, Kyra Sedgwick in Monique Lhuillier

 Give them the One Shoulder
Cheryl Hines in Zac Posen, Julie Benz in Pamela Roland, Elizabeth Moss in Donna Karan

 Black never left for summer
Julia Louis Dreyfus in Narcisco Rodriguez, Angela Kinsey in Romona Keveza, Tina Fey in Oscar de la Renta

Glitz and Glam
Heather Morris in Ina Soltani and Claire Danes in Armani Prive

Best wardrobe change
Kelly Osbourne in Tony Ward and Bodyamr

Best Makeup
Dianna Agron, so pretty!

I am super excited to be going to the Tucker Spring 2011 fashion show in a couple of weeks (thank you, Beth!). Gaby Basora's silk dresses, blouses and cammies are so feminine and sleek.

Loafers, the well heeled variety

My adoration with loafers began in the 6th grade with my first pair of Bass penny loafers, suede saddle shoes followed in 8th grade and finally the heeled black patent loafer in 9th. I get giddy when I see new heeled versions of this adorable, preppy shoe. This fall, these little lovelies are making their way back to the forefront. Fall 2009 was the heeled oxford, Fall 2010 is the heeled loafer.

Friday Finds

Today is a great Friday, you know why? Because I am finally feeling better after 9 days of a cold, not fun.

Thank you to everyone that has voted for my Passion for Fashion entry on Neiman Marcus. I greatly appreciate it!

Treating myself to a little retail therapy, I went to Kate Spade to check out this bag...

Well, while it was lovely, it just wasn't everything I thought it would be. So, I asked Megan, the darling sales associate, for something else. She handed me the most A-dorable purse.

It is a faux-fur round mini purse that clasps with a large gold ball and hangs from a long gold chain strap. J'adore! Thank you, Megan! I have been looking for an online photo of this "Cat's Meow" bag all day and had no luck. I will take a photo later and post it. PHOTO BELOW!

This gorgeous gold Nanette Lepore frock must be worn
Drew Barrymore looks lovely and happy at the premier of Going the Distance
Britney will appear on Glee, LOVE that show, she tweeted a pict from the set
I will not be embracing the bandeau trend, unless it is my fantastic J Crew pewter bikini

Fall Must Haves- be choosy with your choices

From goth to boho chic, the fall runways were teaming with trends. There are a lot to choose from... so how to decide? Well, choose what speaks to you most, what can fit into your pre-existing wardrobe, what pieces are you DIE-ing to have, what made you jump up and clap. Not every "Must Have" is suited for every person, so be choosy with your choices!

Here is my list for fall and the pieces I am going to for inspiration once that lovely autumn breeze rolls through this cement jungle I adore.

What will you be wearing this fall? Enjoy!

Camel Coat
I have two vintage coats that were my grandmother's and a black rain coat, this is my missing piece.

(Mulberry and Erdem)

Shearling Jacket
I am loving the shearling jacket. Doesn't it bring you back to the Gap circa 1990's?

(Helmut Lang)

Spike Heel Boots
Nothing says vixen more than a spiky heel

(Lanvin, Donna Karan, Christian Dior)

Grey and Blue
Must have colors for fall. A blouse, a dress, a suit, I am definitely going to make sure these find a way into my closet.

(Chloe, Rouland Mouret, Luisa Beccaria)

Plaid and Tweed
A new twist to the preppy lo0k, paired with mixed patterns and boots make this a fresh new look.

(J Crew, Tracy Reese, Douglas Hannant)

Gold
A piece here, a nub there, add some gold!

(Twenty 8 Twelve, Alice and Olivia, Isabel Marant)

Hats
I am a sucker for a hat

(Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrara)
